Have you ever felt pulled in two different directions? Like a part of you wants to do one thing, while another part wants to do something else? That's because our minds are like families, with different parts playing different roles. Often creating internal conflict within ourselves!


Your Inner Family!


  • Core Self: This is the wise, calm part of you, like a loving parent. It guides and supports all the other parts. 

Feels like: A state of intense happiness and well-being. It can manifest as feelings of extreme joy, excitement, or elation. People experiencing self, say it euphoric and may feel a sense of invincibility, heightened energy, and a deep sense of connection to others or the world around them. 


  • Exiles: Inner Child: These are the wounded parts that carry painful emotions, like fear or sadness. They often hide away to protect themselves.

Exiles: Inner child: Are the youngest and most vulnerable versions of who we are, sometimes referred to as our “inner children.”They're often the parts that have directly experienced some kind of trauma and then took on the burden of those emotions, leaving them trapped in the past.


  • Managers: These parts try to control things to protect the exiles. They might use strategies like overworking, people-pleasing, or substance abuse.

Protectors Manager: While managers act in preparation of problems and try to avoid difficult

situations as much as possible.

-Examples of manager parts include:

Perfectionism, people-pleasing, caretaking, overthinking, and self-criticism.

-Self soothes you with addictions, drugs, drinking, sex, sugar, distractions…

all our addictions. Young energy childlike in action and response.


  • Firefighters: These parts react impulsively to stress, like lashing out in anger or withdrawing completely.

Protectors firefighter:

-These Firefighter protectors are more “fiery” confrontational.

-Firefighters come into action once we are in a situation of perceived

danger.

-Firefighters are the parts that react when our emotional pain and

vulnerability surface.

-They are like emergency responders, jumping into action to prevent the

Exiles' Inner-child pain from overwhelming us.

-Their burden is containing and protecting the most vulnerable parts of who

we are.

-Firefighters are protective parts that act reactively when they think we're in

danger—usually when there's an overwhelming flood of emotions.

Firefighters want to remove us from what we're feeling.


  • Teenager: The Rebellious teenager part, they can be tricky, and create chaos, and self sabotaging behaviors.

Angry Teenage: Disruptive, mischievous, very-confrontational, risk-averse part.

~Even though you know they are wrong, you just can't help but allow them to take over YOU, and because it feels powerful, yet it's highly destructive behavior, out of control behaviors, we give in to the teenages whims too easley.


Healing Your Inner Family

By understanding these parts, we can work together to heal and grow. We can:


  • Soothe the Exiles: With compassion, understanding, connecting to the inner child, integrating them back into YOU is necessary to create balance within your system. 

  • Calm the Managers: Help them relax and let go of control.

  • Transform the Firefighters: Teach them healthier ways to cope with stress, tame the hyper vigilance response, relax the vagus nerve, and nervous systems.

  • Strengthen the Self: Develop qualities like calmness, courage, and creativity.

  • Tame the Teenager: Gain control of the rebellious and self sabotaging response.

By nurturing our inner family, we can create a more peaceful and harmonious life.
